Concerts & Shows

Over the years Malpas Village Hall has been hosts to many performances of all types, we can accommodate an audience of 60, and an adjustable stage for performers.

The set up is totally bespoke, and we can adapt the auditorium to suit your requirements. An ideal venue for a small to medium audience without incurring the costs of a larger playhouse.

It’s all very casual, and we envisage an evening performance in the St Andrews Hall with the Dolphin Bar open in the Barton Hall for refreshments and nibbles. Many options are available for a variety of entertainment.

STAGING YOUR OWN SHOWS

Whether you’re a solo performing artist, a six-piece live band or a choral group, a small intimate performance with an attentive audience, could be the place for you.

Our stunning halls overlook the Truro River, and its setting is the perfect backdrop for showcasing your performance.

THE BARTON HALL - including patio, river views and an open plan kitchen (this is the smaller of the two halls)

Our Barton Hall is a fully adaptable venue with capacity to comfortably seat an audience of 40. The kitchen includes all your requirements for hot food, teas and coffees and a licenced bar.

A further 15 seats can be made available for alfresco dining on the patio.

Offering you and your audience an intimate experience for those warm summer evenings.

The Barton Hall is particularly favourable when performances are set up in the St Andrews Hall – guests can easily move between the two Halls via the link lobby area.

  • Ordering and collecting drinks from the bar
  • Easy access to the toilets
  • Ideal for meeting people, socialising and chatting
  • External area for socialising on the Patio
  • Calm ambiance

THE ST ANDREWS HALL

(The larger of the two halls)

Note: If your performance requires the use of the kitchen facilities and additional seating you will need to book both halls. For example, a cabaret evening or you may require a show interval.

St Andrews Hall has the capacity to seat 60 to enjoy a show or watch a film on the big screen.
A great adaptable space for slightly larger entertainment. A stage can be set up to suit your personal requirements – please contact the bookings manager, we provide seating and stage plans to specifically to fit in with your requirements.

Our own large screen and Audio-Visual surround sound equipment is available on request. This is ideal for Presentations / Screen displays / Discos and Film presentations.

PA Equipment & Lighting (supplied by an external company) is also available. (most shows use their own equipment)

Concerts / Shows and Film hire rates are set according to your requirements and duration.
This can include Both halls, the Kitchen area, the Patio overlooking the river and the small side Garden for private intimate use.

Each hall can then be used for a variety of celebratory functions and exclusive use of the building:

  • Staging to your own design
  • Music and entertainment
  • Video and Film projection
  • In house disco / dance floor
  • Bar and Bar service

With costs rising each year, this is a perfect venue for a small to medium gathering.
